Attending the ceremony Wednesday afternoon were officials from the office of Mississippi Public Utilites, the U.S. Department of Agriculture, internet service providers, the Copiah-Jefferson Library System, and the staff and management of Georgetown Telephone Company.

Broadband Center had its official opening
ceremonies on March 10th. The center is located in the Robert W. Windom
Jr./Georgetown Library.
The Broadband Center features ten state-of-the-art computers with
Digital Subscriber Lines (DSL) connected to the internet. DSL allows
data to move over phone lines at a much faster rate than regular dial-up
connections. These computers are there for the public's use, free of
charge. The center has permanent staffing.
As a bonus,
the Library has extended hours and will now be open 6 days a week.
