That way you'll know whether you need to take the call.
Customers
with either touchtone or rotary service can subscribe to Selective
Distinctive Alert. Screen
List Editing capability is needed to build and update telephone
number list. Calls from numbers that are not on your Selective
Distinctive Alert list will have a normal ringing pattern (or Call
Waiting tone). For this service, 3-31 numbers are allowed on a
Selective Distinctive Alert list (actual list size will vary).
Callers from numbers on your Selective Distinctive Alert list do not
know that their call is receiving special attention. Speed Calling
codes can be used to access Selective Distinctive Alert service.
How to Activate Selective Distinctive Alert:
1.
Lift the receiver and listen for dial tone.
2.
Dial the Selective Distinctive Alert access code, *____
(11____on a rotary dial telephone).
3.
Listen to voice instructions which tell you:
· Whether service
is on or off.
· How many
numbers are on your list.
· How to turn
service on or off.
· How to add or
delete numbers from your list.
4.
Choose from the following options:
